This past year, the college implemented a comprehensive training program designed to provide students with both technical and professional skills.
Professional Development Training
Resume Writing and Interview Skills:
Students participated in detailed workshops focused on creating professional resumes. The sessions covered proper formatting, essential content, and customization tips to make resumes stand out. In addition to resume writing, students received extensive training on interview etiquette. This included:
- Answering common interview questions with confidence and clarity.
- Techniques for effective salary negotiation.
- Drug Inspector & Hospital Pharmacist (In Army, Railway and other government sectors)
- Best practices for post-interview follow-up, including thank-you notes and feedback requests.
Company Culture:
Understanding company culture is crucial for a successful career. The program included sessions on:
- Researching company values, missions, and work environments.
- Tailoring interview approaches to align with the specific cultures of potential employers.
- Adapting to different corporate cultures once employed.
Technical Skills Training
Students participated in intensive technical training sessions held three times per week, followed by evaluations to assess their understanding and application of the concepts. The key areas covered included:
Quality Control and Quality Assurance:
Students received in-depth training on:
- The principles and practices of quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Techniques for ensuring product quality and compliance with industry standards.
Pharmacovigilance:
The program addressed:
- Commonly asked questions (FAQs) about pharmacovigilance.
- Detailed processes of case processing and adverse drug reaction reporting.
Pharmaceutical Production:
Students were introduced to:
- Concepts and practices involved in the manufacturing of various pharmaceutical products such as tablets, capsules, and sterile preparations.
- Troubleshooting techniques for resolving issues in pharmaceutical production processes.
Instrumental Methods of Analysis:
Training included the use of various analytical instruments commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry, such as:
- Liquid Chromatography (LC)
- High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
- Gas Chromatography (GC)
- UV-Visible Spectrophotometry
- Infrared (IR) Spectrophotometry
Sterilization Principles:
Students learned about:
- The fundamental principles of sterilization.
- Applications of sterilization techniques in pharmaceutical manufacturing to ensure product safety and efficacy.
Evaluation and Feedback
All training sessions included multiple forms of evaluation:
- Interim evaluations to monitor progress and understanding.
- Unannounced evaluations to ensure consistent knowledge retention.
- Post-completion evaluations to assess the overall effectiveness of the training and identify areas for improvement.
